Reflecting on the 2024 US Elections

…and what can early stage sustainable luxury and mission driven businesses learn.

1.) Celebrity influence no longer influences: consider all the celebrities that endorsed and supported Kamala Harris: combined social media following: over 2 billion followers, and only 500k votes decide the election | 150 million voters | 300 million population in USA | Biden received 81.2 million votes in 2020 and Kamala Harris received 69 million votes. | Donald Trump received 74 million votes in 2020 and 73 million votes in 2024.

Conclusion: The discrepancy between the Democrats (12 million voters)and Republicans(1 million voters). Donald Trump didn’t WIN. Democrats didn’t show up to vote.

What happened?

Brings me to the 2nd point:

2.) Donald Trump learned from his first presidency. This time, he surrounded himself with highly qualified and knowledgeable experts in their respective fields to fix the problems that the American people are waking up to. Healthcare, food source its effect on chronic disease, military, economics and operations. None of which are part of big corporations or lobbyists.

3.) Messaging: Instead of pushing a message AT people, Donald Trump learned where his weakness was after his first debate with Kamala Harris. He choose intelligent, well spoken, respected experts with a loyal following that trust what they say and who would show up for them. These experts campaigned FOR Donald Trump.

What does this mean for niche sustainable luxury and mission driven business?

It is more than clear, we are in the age of Authenticity. Thus: know how to read, analyse, and translate your data into meaningful strategies. Know your audience and customers, and align yourself with experts that can move the needle with you.

Make sure your messaging connects with your customers. Go back to your WHY.

Acknowledge. Alignment. Authenticity.

The old stagnant way of doing things and doing business, as it has been proven in one of the most highly critical election in the US, doesn’t work. Society is waking up —- they no longer want to be influenced. They want to be treated as a human being on equal footing. They want solutions.

The next 4 years will be very different. There are a lot of unknowns and lots we can not control. The only thing we can control is ourselves and how we show up as conscious entrepreneurs. Our job is to continue to be the light and spark light through your business for your community and customers. Awaken the power and the goodness within them, empower unity, love and peace.
